Mother Nature is rich in imagination! On our planet, there are many rocks, shaped like different animals. And one of them – basalt rock on the island of Heimaey in South Iceland, remarkably similar to a giant elephant or mammoth with trunk lowered into the water.
Heimaey is the largest island in the archipelago of Vestmannaeyjar, a group of volcanic islands. Eruption Eldfetl that occurred in 1973, led to the evacuation of the entire population of the island.
