Testing the atomic bomb

July 16, 1945 the U.S. tested a first atomic bomb and in three weeks two atomic bombs were dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.The first in the history of mankind, the atomic bomb was ready for testing at the test site near Alamogordo, New Mexico in July 1945. The first bomb was named Trinity.

Military camp near Los Alamos, where they droped Trinity. Trinity was the culmination of a plan of “Manhattan”, the U.S. project to build the first atomic bomb.

For two day trials they placed cameras, at different distances from which the seismographs were installed,and devices that record the level of radiation and pressure.
The explosion was accompanied by a flash that was visible for 350 miles, and roar,was heard for tens of kilometers. “Mushroom cloud” rose to a height of over 10 kilometers. From the tower,from which was installed “Trinity” have only melted base.
