This beautiful and really strong woman has proven that potential weakness can be turned into strength.
Aimee Mullins is the perfect example of a person who turned a so-called disability into an advantage. Born with no fibula bones in her legs doctors had to amputee both legs below the knee when she was one year old.
However, in college she ran Division I track against able bodied runners and participated in the 1996 Paralympics in Atlanta. Mullins has also done some modeling, has acted in several movies and worked at the Pentagon. She has 12 prosthetic legs and is quite the fun loving and cool person!
Aimee Mullins is an actress, model and athlete, has a dozen pairs of designed artificial limbs and ‘encourages designers to change the idea of “disability” and the definition of beauty by bringing their talents to both the science and the art of designing prosthetics’
